Jyrki Airola
About Jyrki
Jyrki Airola is the founder of Jalala, an AI-first venture builder based in Espoo, Finland, that builds, owns, and operates a growing portfolio of AI-powered products and digital businesses. He brings 25+ years of hands-on software experience and a long track record as a serial entrepreneur to the work.
Jalala is his third company. He has been running his own businesses since 2012, which means product decisions, client relationships, billing, infrastructure, and code have all been his problem for the better part of a decade and a half.
The entrepreneurial arc
Jalala Oy (2022– ) — An AI-first venture builder that builds, owns, and operates a growing portfolio of AI-powered products and digital businesses. Each venture has its own brand and team, while sharing Jalala's operational backbone: finance, AI infrastructure, legal, and strategic direction.
Luovikulma (2025– ) — Jalala's AI agency, led by Jyrki as Founder and Lead AI Engineer. Helps businesses adopt AI from strategy through implementation of production-ready AI systems and LLM applications.
IT-Boys Group Oy (2016–2021) — Jyrki's second company, focused on SEO and digital marketing. He delivered technical SEO audits and managed digital advertising campaigns for agency clients, alongside network and infrastructure projects.
Aironbit — sole trader (2012–2016) — Jyrki's first freelance practice, covering web and software development, Facebook marketing solutions, high-traffic WordPress sites, and a web-hosting business.
Before the ventures
Before going independent, Jyrki spent four years as a research-lab system administrator at a Finnish university (2007–2011), taught as a substitute teacher for upper-secondary physics, mathematics, and computer science, and worked as a university teaching assistant. He started his career in the late 1990s as a senior programmer.
Education
Jyrki holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Aalto University and a professional qualification in accounting. He is currently completing a BSc and MSc in Computer Science at the University of Helsinki, focusing on software engineering and AI.
